Hosted by Complex Movements The event was held from Thursday to Sunday.
The greater the loyalty of a group toward the group, the greater is the motivation among the members to achieve the goals of the group, and the greater the probability that the group will achieve its goals.
“He sank back into his black-and-white world, his immobile world of inanimate drawings that had been granted the secret of motion, his death-world with its hidden gift of life. But that life was a deeply ambiguous life, a conjurer's trick, a crafty illusion based on an accidental property of the retina, which retained an image for a fraction of a second after the image was no longer present. On this frail fact was erected the entire structure of the cinema, that colossal confidence game. The animated cartoon was a far more honest expression of the cinematic illusion than the so-called realistic film, because the cartoon reveled in its own illusory nature, exulted in the impossible--indeed it claimed the impossible as its own, exalted it as its own highest end, found in impossibility, in the negation of the actual, its most profound reason for being. The animated cartoon was nothing but the poetry of the impossible--therein lay its exhilaration and its secret melancholy. For this willful violation of the actual, while it was an intoxicating release from the constriction of things, was at the same time nothing but a delusion, an attempt to outwit mortality. As such it was doomed to failure. And yet it was desperately important to smash through the construction of the actual, to unhinge the universe and let the impossible stream in, because otherwise--well, otherwise the world was nothing but an editorial cartoon.” ― Steven Millhauser, Little Kingdoms

Great Alexander: Behind the Scenes
"Awareness is Power. The Greater the Awareness, the Greater your Power". That's how we felt walking out of Alexander Vlachos's (also known as Greater Alexander) studio in Southfield yesterday. All we can say is thank you for letting us into your studio and thank you for opening up about your past experiences. You're overcoming a tremendous amount of adversity and we could feel it in your music. We're honored to call you a friend and look forward to watching you continue to grow and share your journey through music.
Here's a clip from our experience with Alexander. He talks about his role in The Acoustic Guitar Project and how he dedicated his song "Symphony of the City" to the City of Detroit.
This is an original song by Greater Alexander P/K/A Alexander Vlachos entitled "The Symphony of This City". Born in Binghamton, New York and raised in Athens, Greece, Alexander Vlachos (known as singer-songwriter Greater Alexander) is an Alumnus of Wayne State University with a degree in Music and a Co-Major in International Studies. His parents heavily played artists like Cat Stevens and Simon and Garfunkel around the house while growing up. The path to achieving a dream can be a long, arduous journey. On it, you see remnants of those that have traveled before you. You see lost hope and altered courses. Indie-folk artist, Greater Alexander, has seen all of that and more.
You can listen to the process of this song from the Acoustic Guitar Project: http://theacousticguitarproject.com/p...
Alexander has been playing guitar for over twenty years and performing in the Detroit, Michigan area since 2004.
On August 18th, 2016 at 9:11pm EST, Greater Alexander released "Spilled Love", exactly 36 years after he was born. This 88-minute collection of ambient piano works serves as a bridge between 2012’s Positive Love and his forthcoming album Let Love In. Read on here: http://www.assemblesound.com/greater-...
Nolan The Ninja: Behind the Scenes
Yesterday afternoon we shadowed Nolan Chapman(known as Nolan The Ninja) at Hello Records while he searched thru the inventory looking for vinyls. We talked about the Detroit hip-hop scene, the area in Detroit where he grew up, his goals as an artist and our vision behind Fanic Music.
One of our personal highlights during this conversation was when he said he's been following what we, Fanic Music, have been up to and expressed an interest in helping us grow. That meant more to us than you know, man. Respect.
Nolan, you're as down to earth and authentic as it gets. Thank you for your time, and thank you for believing in what we can achieve together with Fanic Music.
Another highlight of our encounter was when he dropped a few bars outside the store. Of course, we caught it on camera to share.
Jackson & the Poolsharks- Behind the ScenesWe stopped by the Shark Tank last night and hung out with the talented and humble fellas fromJackson and the Poolsharks. Here's a quick behind the scenes footage for you guys. Stay tuned for the official release of our upcoming project and official release of the platform.
Omar Abu also known as Omar Zidan at his home studio. This encounter was special to us on so many levels. He gave us a glimpse into what 2017 will look like for him as a person and as an artist. This guy is special and as humble as it comes.
Thank you for letting us listen to some of your new content, man. The fusion of your Middle Eastern heritage and musical influences blew us away.
Here's a glimpse of what we witnessed. You can't help but feel the sheer passion and drive he projects. Taking a quote from his lyrics..."this is more than music" for Omar. We believe you. Thank you for supporting Fanic Music, brother. We can't wait to see what you do next!
We caught up with L.A.Z 1/4 of Clear Soul Forcesat the Stevie Wonder ceremony in Detroit. Here's a clip of LAZ dropping jewels A Cappella
The talented, Nolan The Ninja made a cameo too.
Thanks for supporting Fanic Music, man. We appreciate you and everyone else getting behind us. Patiently, one by one, we will make our impact.
Stay tuned for the release of Fanic Music 's upcoming project and the official release of our platform.
Willa Rae: Behind the Scenes
Our final stop of 2016 was at PJ's Lager House to catch up with the incredibly talented and incredibly sweet, Willa Rae. She shared a few wild experiences she had on tour and how she's now handling the talent buying at PJ's moving forward. We also talked about Fanic Music and how excited we are for her to use the platform.
Thank you, Willa, for spending time with us and thank you for allowing us to film this "little ditty" "Love's Wasting My Time".
Jet Rodriguez: Behind the Scenes
Last night we caught up with our dear friendCameron Navetta (also known as Jet Rodriguez) at his home studio in Madison Heights. A little back story on this relationship...Jet was the 1st Michigan-based musician that believed in our vision and saw value in what we wanted to create. Without his support, several incredibly invaluable relationships wouldn't have been forged and our music series, Live & Raw, wouldn't have materialized as smoothly as it did. We want to say, THANK YOU for all your support over the past few years, dude. We love you to the moon and back!
On top of all that love, he's a pretty talented singer/songwriter too. Here's video proof from last nights visit where Jet plays us his latest single "Self Preservation".
E-Fav Behind the Scenes
We caught up with another member of Clear Soul Forces, Emile V Manette, at Belle Isle Conservancy and brought him up to speed on all things Fanic Music. More importantly, we talked about our families.
Thank you for your time dude and thank you for allowing us to film you. Always a pleasure. Here's a short clip of E-Fav spitting A Capella
Oh and stay tuned for the release of Fanic Music 's upcoming project and the official release of the platform.
Sleepless Inn: Behind the Scenes
Yesterday afternoon we caught up with the talented duo Laura Finlay and Eddie Logix (also known asSleepless Inn) at Third Wave Music located on the corner of Forest and 2nd in Detroit.
After playing around with all the music paraphernalia in store, we figured it would make sense to sit down and properly catch up. Fanic Music was the main topic and how close we are to our release date but we also talked about social media and it's positive/negative impact on the music industry. Thank you both for your time, we really enjoyed catching up.
Considering we were in a music store we obviously asked them to perform a track. They agreed. However, before we do that, we want to express our deepest gratitude to Eddie for supporting us from the first moment we spoke over the phone until now. Eddie has been an incredible bridge to the local music scene. Without his support we wouldn't have made so many connections and built so many relationships. He's never turned us down or said he's too busy to support even though he's juggling several projects. He's truly a pay it forward kind of man and we will never forget his willingness to extend a hand. THANK YOU sir for your openness to support a small start-up from Detroit. We hope to pay it forward back to you one day soon! Respect.
